In the rapidly advancing scenario of tele-communication convergence, the next generation telecom services are  providing the Power to ‘Know’ coupled with real time Business predictions. One such solution launched by Tata Indicom is based on Location Based Services called QUICKFINDER–I. It’s first-of-its-kind Location-based Service powered by Qualcomm’s QPoint solution and gpsOne technology.
QUICKFINDER–I rides on the benefits of A-GPS technology and provide reliability and enhanced applications support to location-based services. QUICKFINDER–I is industry leading and offers far greater accuracy and real-time access, as it is based on a hybrid A-GPS and Next-Gen technology platform, riding on Tata Indicom’s robust CDMA network. The A-GPS service will use the most advanced positioning methodology to provide users with precise position information, including inside buildings and structures.
QUICKFINDER–I enables real-time tracking of single or multiple vehicles via a secure user-friendly web interface.
Designed in a modular format to offer flexibility of tracking, monitoring, controlling and analysing fleet performance QUICK-FINDER–I enables customers with the flexibility of customising MIS reports to their requirements. Powered by Tata Teleservices CDMA network, customers can now track their vehicle or asset even while it is indoor or in a remote location.
QUICKFINDER–I Service provides 2 such solutions – Cargo Management and In Transit Solution:
Cargo management
Cargo Management Service is designed exclusively for consigner, consignee and third party logistics providers who wish to have real-time updates and monitor the on-road movements of their cargo. The system also provides privileged access to all stakeholders in the value chain, be it the consigner, consignee or the third party who can get updates via email and SMS during various stages of cargo movement – start-time, arrival at destination and deviations from the route. The major advantage of this service is that it can be easily integrated into consigner SAP and ERP systems. A key feature of the application is also the ability to calculate Dynamic ETA – it automatically calculates the estimated time of arrival of the consignment based on the on-road movement of the vehicles.
In-transit solution
In-transit service provides a simple yet advanced solution to address an employer’s safety concerns vis-à-vis their employees. The service integrates employee RFID cards with A-GPS, enabling an organisation to track employee movements. This ensures their safety and security while on-board a company transfer vehicle as the organisation is able to track vehicle movements. The service can track both single and multiple employee transfer fleets.
The system generates alerts online via email and SMS allowing organisations to track when the vehicles reach their pick-up and drop points and the deviations from pre-defined route (if any) – including instances of over-speeding!
