Varroc chooses Bayer MaterialScience’s Bayfit


Aurangabad-based tier supplier, Varroc has chosen Bayer MaterialScience’s Bayfit moulded foam polyurethane systems to supply materials for motorcycle seats because they help increase processing efficiency. Bayfit moulded foam systems allow for the realisation of various designs together with highest functionality, maximum comfort and best quality. 

The integration of inserts and surface materials also for complex designs can be realised without problems – at the same time cutting, glueing and waste are minimised. “Quality, functionality and efficiency are major drivers in the supply industry for motorcycle and automotive parts”, said Tarang Jain, managing director, Varroc Group. “Bayfit polyurethane moulded foam systems offer these advantages in combination with a wide processing latitude and density range. ‘Transport for Progress’ Seminar


The Society of Indian Manufacturers Association and Swedish Trade Council in India are organising a seminar on September 10th 2007 to be a platform to bring together specialists from India and Europe to discuss the elements that will define progress in the road transport industry. 

The seminar is supported by the Department of Transport & Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India along with support from ASRTU (Association of State Road Transport Undertakings); NATRIP (National Automotive Testing & R&D Infrastructure Project) & ACOGOA (All India Confederation of Goods Vehicle Owner’s Association). Volvo is the technology partner in this seminar. 

The audience will include key policy makers, authorities, customers, associations, media and influencers connected with transport in India. Volvo will also set up an interactive safety exhibition including various interactive displays – helping to raise the sensitivity towards safety issues and related practises in the world of transport. Exide Launches Solar Water Heaters


With an aim to reduce dependence on fast depleting energy resources and promote the use of non-conventional energy driven products in daily life, Exide Industries launched a wide range of state-of-the-art Solar Water Heaters in Hyderabad recently. The latest offering from Exide is an evacuated Tube Collector based Solar Water Heater, which is technologically superior to the existing range of products available in the market- 

Being an environment-friendly device, solar water heater has an edge over the conventional water heating systems. It saves environmental degradation by reducing the need for fossil fuels. A 100-litre solar water heater can replace electric geysers for residential use and save 1500 units of electricity annually, resulting in considerable savings in electricity costs. This heater can also prevent emission of 1.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. 

Besides water heaters, Exide has also developed LED technology, a state-of-the-art technology for Solar Homelighting.
