New Fixturing System from Witte

Singapore-based Witte Far East has introduced a new modular fixturing system Aluquick (AQ). Comprising extruded profiles with grooves but incorporating a grid, the AQ fixtures allow repeatability accurate positioning using the grid or positioning off-grid using grooves. The intentionally limited number of different AQ standard components means start up is possible with low initial investment. As a result of the compatibility with existing Witte systems such as Alufix Classic, and Alufix XL almost unlimited expansion is possible.

Special connection elements give AQ further advantages for fixture building compared to conventional extruded profiles. The connection technology not only simplifies assembly but also offers the possibility of modifying fixtures without having to disassemble the basic frame. For large fixtures such as passenger car doors or side panels several bars can be connected, thereby achieving additional rigidity for large, heavy work pieces. AQ profiles are available in prefabricated shorter lengths, but can be supplied up to a length of six metres.

AQ is predestined for fixture building, where the need for economical, rigid and at the same time light fixtures is constantly growing. With its cost-effective standard components allowing high repeatability AQ fulfills current demands regarding main characteristics required for fixture building.

Gaadi.com from Pahwa

Pahwa KBS, a consumer internet company that also owns SecondShaadi.com, has launched a new portal called gaadi.com. The portal aims at creating a one stop place for all the car buying needs—from researching what car to buy to helping contact the dealer in the vicinity . The website also has a recommend a car feature, in which the system recommends a car to the potential buyer after he answers a few questions. A car owner can also check the value of his car.

Speaking at the launch, Vivek Pahwa, CEO of Pahwa KBS, said, “Gaadi.com lays strong emphasis on user generated content. To become a comprehensive research platform for users to help decide which the right car is for them, you have to bring in the community aspect. You need to know what others who own the car think about it – you want to get recommendations from the community before purchasing a vehicle. The whole car purchase exercise is a long and a well thought out one – we want everyone considering a new or used car purchase to visit our site and read about the cars available in the market.”
