Tata Motors, one of the world’s leading automobile brands today announced that they have bagged the order for supplying over 200 units of their four-wheel drive SUV, Tata Hexa from the Bangladesh Army.
The Tata Hexa met all the requirements and specifications of the Bangladesh Army after rigorous testing of the product for months and won this order against the other competitive SUV brands.
Sujan Roy, Head International Business-Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors said,“The vehicle to be supplied will be based on a civilian Hexa XT 4x4 sold in India. Specifications as per the tender requirements will involve a special exterior colour (Military Green) as well as several extra fitments as specified in the tender. The first of the 200 unit order will be supplied in late August or September while 18 trial units of Hexa are already in service with the Bangladesh Army.”
These 200 units for Bangladesh Army will be manufactured at Pune facility. The Bangladesh Army had used Japanese and Korean brands.
“Bangladesh is a key market for us and this order is a clear sign of Tata Motors’ commitment and growing success in the market. We are exploring multiple avenues to work closely with the Bangladesh armed forces,” Roy added. Tata Motors has been selling passenger vehicles in Bangladesh since 2012.
