What garage equipment and solutions does your company offer?
We offer body shop equipment like crash repair systems, panel repair systems and hydraulic push pull kits for body repair, all from Autorobot Finland Oy, a company that has been making these equipments for the last 30 years and supplying it to more than 70 countries world wide. The Autorobot collision repair systems are protected by more than 60 patents. We are also dealing in spot welders with the latest inverter technology (squeeze type resistant spot welding) for repairing HSS/UHSS/and other advanced materials like boron alloys, etc., that are being used in vehicles these days. We also offer MIG and MAG welders and infrared curing systems from AMH, Canada. AMH has been manufacturing such equipments for the last 30 years and supplying it to many markets the world over. The AMH spot welders are approved by almost all the leading global automotive majors, including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, General Motors, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen and others.
Do you manufacture the equipment and solutions in India?
No. The Autorobot crash repair systems and other body shop tools and equipments are manufactured at the Autorobot plant in Kuopio, Finland and imported for sale in India, and we provide the necessary after sales support. Similarly the inverter based spot welders are also imported. They are made by AMH at their factory in Rimouski, Canada.
Which are the companies that you represent in the garage equipment and solutions space?
As mentioned above, we represent at an all-India level, Autorobot Finland Oy, and AMH Canada. Both the companies are pioneers in collision repair systems and inverter spot welding technology globally.
Who is the target audience for such equipment and solutions?
The collision repair systems (CRS) and inverter type spot welding systems are highly capital intensive equipment. Most buyers of these equipments are the leading automotive OEMs and their dealers. Leading workshops in the country also figure in the buyers list.
Do the equipment and solutions you offer, conform to the standards prescribed by automakers in India? Is it endorsed by them?
The collision repair systems and inverter type spot welders are equipments that are related to the safety aspects of a vehicle. They are therefore thoroughly evaluated by the automotive OEMs before they are recommended to their dealers and authorised workshops. At times the evaluation could last for more than a year. Among the Indian automakers the equipment we offer is approved by Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Honda Cars India, Nissan, Ford and Volvo. We offer our equipment to the dealers of these OEMs. We cater to their dealers across India.
How do you reach out to your audience?
The information on an upcoming dealership, or dealerships, is provided by OEMs. OEMs also inform us of those who are looking at replacing their non-working equipments. We also learn about requirements for new equipment through our visits to the dealerships. We organise presentations and demonstrations as may be requested by the customer to help them understand the features of the equipments. To help them understand the productivity gains the new equipment could offer.
What is the nature of service support you offer in India?
We have a presence in more than 21 states across India. Endorsing our presence are our sales and service engineers. They are well equipped, have the requisite skills as well as the required spares to provide prompt and efficient service at all times. We are also having our installation base in almost all the major cities of India.
What is the ideal working life of the equipment and solutions that you offer?
The collision repair systems from Autorobot are warranted against any manufacturing defects for a period of three years. Thereafter, we provide services under the AMC contract, or on call basis, as required by the customer. In fact, the product quality is so good that there hardly emerges any service related issue, or issues, in the collision repair and inverter spot welders we supply. The products are robust and rugged. They can last for many years with proper maintenance and support. For your information, some of the collision repair systems sold by Autorobot 25 years ago continue to be used. They continue to perform satisfactorily, highlighting the fact that the quality of the equipment is the best one could lay his or her hands on. Autorobot offers equipment that is of the highest quality. It also has long-term durability.
How competitive are the equipment and solutions you offer?
The equipments are OEM approved. They are one of the best available in the Indian market. The pricing is quite competitive when compared to other similar brands for example.
Who are your competitors?
There are not very many companies manufacturing the above-mentioned equipments globally and competition is mainly between Autorobot and Car-o-Liner. The Autorobot CRS offers many advantages over the Car-o-Liner benches and measuring systems. The technology used by Autorobot leads to faster mounting and pulling and more easier and accurate measuring process.
What are the challenges you face?
During the last one year, the market has been sluggish. This has led us to face a challenge where the expenses have gone up significantly. Earnings, at the other end, have continued to be the same. We hope the situation to improve. We hope that the situation will improve - will be corrected - this year now that a stable government is the helm.
How much growth do you expect to achieve in this financial year?
We are quite optimistic about the new government's ability to correct the current situation, to drive growth - to drive growth back into the manufacturing sector. The automotive sector will profit from the return of growth, which will lead to more opportunities. We hope that we should be able to touch double digit growth this year.
Any new equipment and solutions you are planning to introduce in India?
We have recently tied up with Bosch for their complete range of automotive diagnostics equipments like wheel aligners, tyre changers, AC recharge equipment, battery chargers, battery testers, and nitrogen tyre inflators. We are now one of the main distributors for Bosch in India.
