The exhibition is spread over 60,000 sq m of Pragati Maidan, showcasing an exclusive collection of components and technology from over 1,200 participants. This marks the diversity present in the Auto Expo and helps to bring together ideas and technology from all corners of the world. Overseas delegations from around 15 countries, to explore the market as well as investment opportunities, have already confirmed their participation.
Enumerating the highlights of the Auto Expo – Components Show, Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA said, “In the backdrop of a slew of regulatory changes, the Auto Expo – Components show will exhibit path braking technologies for the future of mobility. Further, fast integration of the Indian auto component industry into the global supply chain is leading to a year on year increase of international participants at the event. We are confident that this edition of Auto Expo – Components will witness more traction in trade and business than any of the previous editions.”
The Exhibition is accredited by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA), an international trade association whose members represent the global auto industry. The pavilions will feature conferences and allied events and exciting new product launches making the show a true convergence of world class technologies and engineering brilliance.
A look at the past
The business-to-business exhibition had an overall participation of 1,115 companies from countries like Japan, China, Switzerland, France among many others, not to mention the roster of international delegates.
The 2016 Auto Expo Components Show was only the second time that the exhibition was held separately from the Auto Expo Motor Show. The exhibitions that outlined the two aspects of the auto industry--components and end-products--were traditionally held together, in the same location. However, this meant that the auto components exhibition couldn’t be executed in all its glory, with several of the manufacturers being listed out of the program.
Since 2014 the organisers have arranged for a the two exhibitions to be held separately allowing the end-users to patronise the OEMs at the Motor Show while industrialists and OEMs themselves could talk trade at the Components Show.
Touching upon the theme of ‘Mobility for all’, the Auto Expo-Components Show 2016 also build on the theme of ‘Make quality and innovation in India, make quality and technology in India’, paraphrasing from the government’s ‘Make in India’ slogan.
One of the highlights of the 2016 exhibition was ACMA’s Asli Naqli pavilion, which was an embodiment of the organisation’s constant anti-counterfeiting campaign. The pavilion featured stalls from manufacturers like TEL and Wabco, that showed how they employed anti-counterfeiting measures in their products. In turn, Holoflex Ltd and Linksmart Technologies showed how their solutions can be applied on products to counter the problem of fraudulent components.
What to expect
The 2018 edition of the Components Show will have a special emphasis on technologies, product innovations, efficient manufacturing and logistics. For a focused approach and convenience of business visitors, the product segmentation displays and focused pavilions on bearings, garage equipments, accessories, and innovation besides the exclusive pavilion on ACMA Safer Drives to sensitise the public towards their responsibilities on the road and use of genuine spare parts.
