industry experiencing a tough time due to the sales number affected from the
month of July, Maruti Suzuki India has decided to shut its passenger vehicle
(PV) operations for two days.
An official statement
issued by the company, stated, “Maruti Suzuki India Limited has decided to shut
down the passenger vehicle manufacturing operations of Gurugram Plant and
Manesar Plant in Haryana for two days, on 7th and 9th September, 2019.”
This is possibly due to the sales figures which have severely impacted
company’s business and market share. According to the release issued, this
August, the company’s sales fell by 36 per cent compared to the last year, from
145,895 in August 2018 to 93,173 in August this year. On the positive side, its
utility vehicle segment sales in August, this year went up by 3.1 per cent.
The company will observe both days as no production days.
