Phenix Varco Pruden to Build Nano Paint Shop

Pre-engineered steel building (PEB) manufacturing firm, Phenix Varco Pruden (PVP), will build the Paint Shop Building for the Tata Nano project in Sanand, Gujarat. PVP is a collaboration between Varco Pruden Buildings Inc., USA, one of the largest PEB manufacturers in the world and Ahmedabad-based M&B Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

Giving details about the project, Mr. Malav Patel, Managing Director, PVP said, “We are going to be supplying approximately 4000 tonnes of steel components for this facility. The complexity is in the function of the building, which calls for multiple mezzanine floors, a heavy load bearing capacity of the main–frame structure and a height of approximately 25 metres.”

“Apart from the paint shop, we shall be installing 35 ancillary buildings, which would be a combination of different sizes, thus covering a total area of 65,000 square metres. The total value of the order is around Rs. 50 crores, and we target to complete it in totality by end of March, 2009”, he added.
