Amara Raja, makers of Amaron automotive batteries, has installed EV battery charging and swapping stations along with a fleet of e-autos in Tirupati in a bid to promote India’s move towards adoption of electric vehicle.

The company also launched a fleet of electric-autos. The initiative is undertaken in collaboration with Tirupati Municipal Corporation, as a part of its smart city program.

The chargers will be operated by Tata Power and will adhere to Bharat Standard (15 kW) for the initial 50 chargers. Going forward, the companies will also have charging stations that will adhere to 30-50 kW DC CCS2 standard.
