South Korean automobile major Hyundai, is going to introduce new products every year to boost volumes and strengthen its image as a modern and premium carmaker.

With 2.57 million cars produced in the first seven months of the year, India has become the world’s fifth-largest carmaker. For the first time in a decade, South Korea loses its top-five spot, producing 2.55 million cars during the same period. Ahead of India are Germany (3.62 million), Japan (5.40 million), the US (7.08 million), and China (12.79 million).

South Korean automobile major Hyundai, is going to introduce new products every year to boost volumes and strengthen its image as a modern and premium carmaker. "We are strong in the compact car category. We have already attained significant market share in the SUV segment, with the new Elantra we will also strengthen our presence in the executive sedans' space. In order to achieve market leadership we will introduce two new products every year," YK Koo, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India said.

The automotive lighting market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.22 per cent from 2016 to 2021and reach $29.53 billion by 2021, driven by increasing vehicle production, technological advancements and partly by stringent regulations. The automotive lighting market has been segmented by region, technology, vehicle type, position, two-wheeler and adaptive lighting. LED is the fastest growing technology in automotive lighting market.

Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), Tata Motors Ltd, has been appointed as the Vice-President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Tata Motors has appointed Guenter Butschek as Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director. He will lead all operations of Tata Motors in India and in international markets including South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and South Africa. Butschek is expected to join the company by February 15, 2016.
