SUVs are assuming a new meaning in India. The passenger vehicle segment of SUVs grew by 30 per cent in FY2016-17. Taking into account the frantic demand and expected launches, more Indians are assumed to drive an SUV by 2020. SUV sales are anticipated to grow strongly in the next decade, as India moves ahead to become part of the global automotive triumvirate.
