Simple Energy plans to launch a B2B product by 2021, a new powertrain by mid-2023 and an e-bike by 2022. It was currently focusing on setting up a factory with one million capacity at Hosur.
Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy, shared about the company’s current focus and plans with PTI. Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based EV maker, is looking to manufacture an electric four-wheeler to add to its future product range.
Rajkumar said that the company had plans to launch a business-to-business (B2B) product by the end of 2021. Currently, it is in the testing and homologation stage. He added that while the B2B products will meet the need of last-mile delivery and logistics, the company’s focus is mainly on B2C (business-to-consumer) and powertrain innovation.
Simple Energy intends to launch a new powertrain by mid-2023 and an e-bike by 2022. Rajkumar said that the company would come out with two more products in the next three years.
He mentioned that the company was improvising its current offerings and planning to introduce a multiple product range in different sections of the automobile sector. An electric four-wheeler is part of its long-term plan. The company is also increasing its R&D (research and development) team.
Rajkumar said that the company would set up a factory with one million capacity at Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It also intends to focus on exports along with the domestic market. It plans for at least 1,000 charging stations in the next 1.5 years.
