Eaton, a power management company, has announced the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art innovation centre. The new Eaton India Innovation Centre (EIIC) was inaugurated at Magarpatta City, Pune and is a strategic program that is focused on enhancing organisational capabilities by leveraging high-end engineering talent and best-in-class infrastructure. Eaton, which is headed by CEO Craig Arnold, provides energy-efficient solutions that help customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more efficiently and safely.
The new EIIC is a vertically integrated engineering organisation that will deliver complete product design life-cycle management solutions for Eaton’s global businesses. The innovation center currently employs more than 1,500 engineers. EIIC is headed by Sudhakar Potukuchi, who is Vice President of Technology, Eaton.
Eaton’s new venture is a reflection of their aim to improve quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
Commenting on the significance of the EIIC, Ram Ramakrishnan, Executive Vice President, Eaton, said,“The EIIC is an integral part of Eaton’s global growth strategy and is in line with Eaton’s commitment to organic growth and achieving global technology leadership through its focus on innovation.” Ramakrishnan is also the Chief Technology Officer of Eaton.
The company made a total of $19.7 billion in sales in 2016 and has approximately 95,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries.
