Omega Seiki Mobility,
part of Anglian Omega Group of companies, signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with C4V, a New York-based company, to manufacture solid-state batteries
will witness C4V manufacturing lithium-ion batteries for Omega Seiki’s range of
EVs. C4V is in talks with several state governments to finalise the location of
the manufacturing plant and start supplies from the second half of 2021.
The company will
initially supply OSM, a bio-mineralised lithium mixed metal phosphate battery
(BM-LMP). Eventually, it’ll produce 400Wh/kg energy density batteries for the Indian
EV and renewable market.
battery technology uses solid electrolyte and provides more power density and
life. It’s certified by New York State’s NYSERDA as one of the greenest in the
world with 85% less carbon footprint and twice the lifecycle of other
traditional lithium-ion batteries.
C4V intends to
become the first lithium-ion cell maker with solid-state technology under the Indian
government’s PLI scheme.
